Third option.

As its ment to be A3 (and the folders a4+) i was thinking instead of blowing it up i could place it on a desk like environment with coffee cups ashtrays ect with each moving about as the folder progresses (ash tray can fill and empty, coffee cups can go down and refill ect). obviously this is just an example and the real one would be under better lighting and conditions.

Will Bartlett! I like option one with the white space as it balances out the torn up content. However, I like this one as the photographs/scans are great and it looks a lot more sophisticated (in terms of a book) than Option 2. I think its an interesting format... it's like a book within a book and although every page will be photographic in terms of approach I would still study every page with the same scrutiny of the original file.
